Perspective…It is so easy to be so close to a situation, or so caught up in it that we lose perspective. Everything kind of gets blurry and things look different than they really are. Sometimes things seem so much bigger, and other things so much smaller than in reality they are. The important thing with perspective is having a reference point. If the reference point keeps changing, then so does the object we are looking at.
The side mirrors of our cars warn us that objects seen in them are closer than they may appear. In this odd season of history with stay at homes, or as my home state nicely calls it, PAUSE, it is easy to lose perspective, to see objects in a blurry fashion without a reference point despair starts growing bigger, or fear, or frustration, but with God as the ultimate reference point it puts all of life into perspective. Nothing is beyond Him. He is good, and is working for our good and His glory.
Sometimes it takes a season of waiting and watching Him to see things in a better perspective. Waiting is hard when my eyes are focused on situation and calendars, but when waiting is focused in on God, it becomes a waiting with expectation and sometimes anticipation. What is He up to? What is he doing? Lord have mercy on us, and be gracious. Help me to keep a proper perspective and know that you are closer than you appear in this mirror.
I (God) am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 TPT
