As I read these lines from Mary Oliver’s poem, Starlings in Winter, I was reminded of these birds I saw on my side stop to see Niagara Falls last year. This quick break in travels to stretch my legs has stayed with me. These birds calmly hung out in the raging rapids of the mighty Niagara Falls. A few yards away water was powerfully pouring over a ledge, and here they sat just sunning themselves. Nothing to fear.

My name is Peggy. I was going to name this blog, "Late to the Party". My sons have been telling me to start a blog for many years. I think they wanted proof of my insanity. Now that my home school career is officially done, I thought I might jump into the waters. Books, tea, dark chocolate, laughter, and great conversation keep me moving on this crazy ride called life. Apparently, I really like to mix metaphors as evidenced by this description. View all posts by inkblotlife
