Out my Window: Sunshine!!! So good to see the sun, even if it was a tad chilly.

Enjoying: Catching up with friends. Getting to play with some young friends of mine. I love hanging out with kids. They love to be silly and they love to laugh.

Listening to: Back on a Jazz thing: Amazon Streaming: Motown by Jazz Sax Instrumentals https://amzn.to/2GSCAK2

Annie F. Downs: That Sounds Fun Podcast- Someone had recommended  her January ones about helping teens and young adults launch. I ended up downloading quite a few to listen to. http://www.anniefdowns.com/podcast/   This one is a great one about being there for teens. (Good if you have a teen, or work with teens) http://www.anniefdowns.com/2019/01/08/next-gen-episode-1-amy-byrd/

Reading: Finished Irresistible Faith Scott Sauls. I think I need to pick it up again and re-read in the future. I feel like there is more for me to glean from it but once over it was good. His blog is worth checking out http://scottsauls.com/blog/

“It is essential to see that every kind of work that creates something new or enhances something broken or lacking is glorious because of how it intersects with God’s ongoing creative mission in the world.”

“We are wired to mirror God through creation and restoration, and in so doing to leave people, places, and things better than we found them.”

Placemaker: Cultivating Places of Comfort, Beauty, and Peace by Christie Purifoy It came!!!  Reading and looking forward to reviewing. It is available for pre-order right now https://amzn.to/2E5NpXg It is due out March 12. Her first book Roots and Sky is one of my favorites.

Pondering: Scott Sauls’ book got me thinking about work. Pre-fall, and why it might look like it does now.  Got me thinking about how the state of work, attitudes toward it, the availability, quality, how workers are treated at times, etc… is really an attack on the order and blessings that God created before the fall that invited us into stewarding this world and co-creating. Thinking about what it looks like to redeem that in my patch of the work world.

Learning: So as I pondered last week about Matthew 5:23-24 and what that looks like with someone who does not like to go back and deal with things and likes to act like all is well, I was reminded that I need to learn to sit in this tension. As far as it is up to me to live at peace with the person in this season of their life, for me it looks more like loving and praying from afar, and treating them with kindness in order to allow it to be the best situation that is available while that person journeys through their stretch of road.

Home: Well, hoping to get some things under control this week as it is winter break in these parts, although my book keeps calling me. So good to be home. Hoping to do some baking.

Fitness and Mental Health: Well, twice a week seems to be my stellar workout program. I am planning on doing a 5K with my son in April so hopefully that will help me get some order and motivation. Reading has been so enjoyable for my mental health.

Giving Thanks: For time with friends. Was able to have a long lunch with a dear friend and a phone conversation with another. Thankful for the people I get to do life with.
