Out my Window: Snow, sleet, ice
Enjoying: A catch up snow day. Enjoying an opportunity to be part of a book launch for a book I have been greatly anticipating.
Listening to: Part 2 of Craig Groeschel’s Leadership Podcast Six Steps to your best year of leadership https://www.life.church/leadershippodcast/six-steps-to-your-best-year-of-leadership-part-2/
Christa Wells Velveteen https://www.amazon.com/Velveteen-Christa-Wells/dp/B079YV4HK9/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1550002173&sr=8-1&keywords=Christa+Wells Using Amazon Prime streaming. Such a beautiful album
Listening to Elevate Worship channel on Pandora. On Sundays I am trying to fill my space with worship that connects with my soul before heading into the morning. Love the Hillsong channel and any Crowder one.
Reading: Irresistible Faith Scott Sauls still reading. Still loving it. Much to think about and process.
Finished Book Girl: A Journey through the Treasures and Transforming Power of a Reading Life Sarah Clarkson. Highly recommend Book Girl https://amzn.to/2ShNZck for anyone who loves reading and books and talking about books. My book list has now grown at a dangerously fast pace. So many great quotes and thoughts. Loved this book for many reasons.
Pondering: “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.” (Matthew 5:23-24) Thinking about what this looks like with someone who does not prefer to go back and deal with things and just moves on ignoring their past hurts and the hurts they did. I have forgiven but I know that a relationship is not restored and not sure that it can be but not sure what that looks like and what my responsibility is and is not.
Learning: What it looks like to listen well and encourage and guide my people in a different way than in the past. Learning what season they really are in and what it looks like to walk with them in it without rushing them through or without trying to fix things for them.
Home: Came home to a home well cared for by my youngest while we were out of town. I am thinking I should hire him to be the housekeeper, meal planner. In other news, he does not want that position so I am back to trying to figure out what my system needs to be successful. Some of my past ways aren’t working for me right now.
Fitness and Mental Health: Two days out of 6 is progress for fitness… I will chalk it up to traveling. I am sticking with the goal of moving when I am not subbing and planking daily. Reading has been so enjoyable for my mental health. So happy to have found my groove again.
Giving Thanks: So thankful for time away with my husband. We had a good time. Thankful for a sample of Spring although I may have some Spring Fever a bit early. So thankful for friends who helped my son over that week and also for the way he was able to do it on his own. Thankful for the opportunities my older son has had recently and how he is leaning in and listening to what God has for him. Thankful for friends who pray and care.
